Native Tulsan Matthew R. Dowdell obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in May 2004. While in school, Mr. Dowdell was Dean of the T. Austin Gavin Senate of the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity. After his term as Dean, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Student of the Fraternity Award, for the academic year 2003-2004, by the National Vice-Chancellor of Delta Theta Phi. At T.U., he was also involved in the Johnson/Sontag American Inn of Court, the Boesche Legal Clinic, as well as a volunteer for the Neighbor for Neighbor Legal Clinic. After admission to the Oklahoma Bar in April 2005, Mr. Dowdell served as in-house counsel for a small, independent oil and gas operator and producer. He is a 1998 graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Dowdell is an active parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, and a member of the Bishop Kelley High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee. He has been with the firm since January 2007.
